I have read a book, The Bride Price,WHICH WAS written by Bushi Emencheta AND WAS PUBLISHED in 1976. The book TELLS US WHAT traditional African customs LOOK LOKE through the eyes of a young girl’s bride pric.
The girl NAMED Aku-nna and her younger brother haD no one to look after SINCE her father Ezekiel'S DEATH, THE REASON OF WHICH IS, according to their customs, THAT her father’s elder brother Okonkwo inherited everything LEFT BY HER FATHER INCLUDING her mother Ma Blackie. They HAD NO CHOICE BUT TO move ALL THE WAY to Ibuza from Lagos. Ibuza IS a small village WHERE THE GIRL'S uncle Okonkwo LIVES. Okonkwo only CARES ABOUT of Aku-nna’s ‘bride price', HIS money in the future. Aku-nna and her brother continueD TO go to school. She worrieD about THE TUITION FEE, AS no one WOULD PAY THAT FOR HER. In her new AND strange home, she meet A man, Chich, WHO helpED HER and WAS kind to her in the school. Soon they WERE in love. HOWEVER, Chich CAME from a slave family, SO Okoboshi’s family kidnapPED Aku-nna and forceD her TO merry Okoboshi, HER CLASSMATE, SIMPLY because his family hates Chick’s. AFTER Aku-nna HAD SUCCESSFULLY ESCAPED from Okoboshi’s hut WITH Chick’s help, THEY WENT to Ughelli and STARTED THEIR happy life, GETTING marrIED and PAYING THE bride price. Okonkwo refuseD to accept any money and HE divorceD Ma Blackie. Aku-nna WAS sick DURING HER pregnanCY. UNFORTUNATELY she dieD after HAVING GIVEN BIRTH TO HER DAUGHTER. The sorty happened in THE 1950S in Ibuze, Nigeria. The HEROINE is Aku-nna, A RATHER kind and bright girl. In THE SOCIETY WITH traditional customs, she triED to change and save herself WITHOUT exceptING THE cruel destiny. She WAS A typist of AN African MAN and HER LIFE WAS affected by local customs.
The Author Bushi Emencheta, WHO MOVED TO BRITAIN IN 19760, IS A NigeriaN and HAD witnessed many things SIMILAR TO ‘the bride price’, slaves and so on. BY WRITING THE BRIDE PRICE, Bushi Emencheta VIVIDLY shows how the traditions of African society affect the lives of women. ANOTHER BOOK WRITTEN BY HER, THE JOYS OF MOTHERHOOD, ALSO TELLS about the traditions of AFRICA.
IT IS A WONDERFUL BOOK WITH AN EASY LANGUAGE AND THUS I RECOMMEND THE BOOK, WITH WHICH YOU MAY LEARN COMPLEX AFRICAN CULTURE.

The Bride Price (revised)

I have read a book named “The Bride Price”, written by Bushi Emencheta, which came out in 1976. This story indicates the traditional customs of Africa from a young girl’s ‘bride price’ .

This girl was name Aku-nna, who and her younger brother were lack of careness after their father Ezekiel’s depth. And according to their customs, her father’s elder brother Okonkwo could inherite everything from her father, including her mother Ma Blackie. So they have to move from Lagos to Ibuza. Ibuza is a small village where her uncle Okonkwo lived. Okonkwo just thought about Aku-nna’s ‘bride price’——the money.

Aku-nna and her brother went to school as usual but she was still worries about the ecation fee because no one would pay for her in the future. In her new home, she met one man whose name was Chich. He helped her and was kind to her in school. And soon afterward they fell in love, but Chich came from a slave’s family. Okoboshi, a boy in the same class with Aku-nna, hated Chich and kidnapped Aku-nna to force her to marry him.

At last, Aku-nna escaped successfully from Okoboshi’s hut under the help of Chick. They went to Ughelli and began a happy life together. Chich wanted to marry and paid bride price, but Uncle Okonkwo refused to accept the hardly‘bride price’ and divorced with Ma Blackie. After that Aku-nna became sickly because of pregnant and finally she died after giving a birth to a daughter...

This story happened in 1950th in Ibuze,Nigeria. The main character Aku-nna, a kind and bright girl, who lives under the bondage of traditional customs, trying to change and save herself for a whole life but at last she lost her life. She is the typically African woman who was lives in a tragic life under the local customs.

The Author, Bushi Emencheta is also a female writer, came from Nigeria who witnessed many things like ‘the bride price’, slaves and so on. "The Bride Price" attracts much attention for the people to know more about the African culture in a short time.And in 1960 Bushi Emencheta moved to Britain and published her another book “The Joys of Motherhood”, which was also about the African social life.

Here I recommend her famous book"The Bride Price" to make us know more about the culture of African.

这句不太理解，你可以写The girl, whose name is Aku-nna, and her yourger brother had no one to look after after their father Ezekiel dead.
continue go to school for accept ecation - continue to go to school，后面的如果要的话，可以写accepting
because of according to their customs - because of the local custom
should get - 去掉
include - including
They must move to Ibuza from Lagos - So they had to move from Lagos to Ibuza.
live in there - lived there
should pay for her - would pay for it(指学费，而不是小姑娘)
